will take place on Friday, March 24th and Saturday, March 25th at Tad Gormley Stadium.

First Time Winners for Both Boys and Girls at Allstate Sugar Bowl Track & Field Classic
The Clinton (Miss.) High School and East St. Louis (Ill.) High School were both first-time champions at the 24th Allstate Sugar Bowl Track & Field Classic which wrapped up on a rainy Saturday at Tad Gormley Stadium in City Park.
The Clinton girls won the meet with 74 points, while McGill-Toolen (Mobile, Ala.) was second with 66 points. Houston (Tenn.) was third with 58 points), Zachary (La.) High School was fourth with 55 points and Mandeville (La.) High rounded out the top five with 53 points.
East St. Louis posted 100 points to win the boys’ meet, while John Curtis (River Ridge, La.) took second with 83 points and Archbishop Rummel (Metairie, La.) was third with 57 points. Jesuit (New Orleans) was fourth with 33 points while Tylertown (Miss.) collected fifth place with 33 points.
The Outstanding Track Performer for girls was Clinton star Monica Mosley, who won the 300-meter hurdles, anchored the record-setting 4×200 relay team and the 4×100 relay winner, while placing second in the 100-meter hurdles. Mosley was the Gatorade Mississippi Girls Track and Field Athlete of the Year in 2015. The Outstanding Field Performer for girls was St. Scholastica senior standout Samantha Zelden for the second straight year – Zelden recorded the meet record in the javelin while also winning the discus.
On the boys’ side, the Outstanding Track Performer was Rummel senior Kristian Fulton, who won the 110-meter hurdles and the 300-meter hurdles. The Outstanding Boys’ Field Performer was Lusher senior Ryan Theyard, who captured the triple-jump title while earning third-place in the long jump. Theyard also helped the Lions to fourth place in the 4×400 meter relay.
